The CEO recruitment process began in spring 2026 following the resignation of the current CEO. More than 30 applications were received for the position, and at the conclusion of the recruitment process, the Board appointed Ville Peltoniemi as the company’s CEO.
Ville Peltoniemi holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA, YAMK) and a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy (AMK). He has experience in managing a youth centre, as well as overall responsibility for finance, personnel and operations, and strategic development.
Peltoniemi has held several leadership positions, including serving as Director of the Piispala Youth Centre from 2019 to 2023. In his most recent role, he worked as a Development Specialist for the Negotiation Body of Regional Network Organisations at Keski-Suomen Yhteisöjen Tuki Association.
Ville Peltoniemi will begin his role as CEO of Villa Elba after the holiday period, on 17 August 2026.
I am truly excited to return to youth centre work – and specifically to what I see as the ‘pearl’ of youth centres, Villa Elba. In my view, Villa Elba is a significant pioneer in the pedagogical development of youth centres as well as in international youth work. It is an honour to become part of this story and to work together with Elba’s highly skilled staff, who carry out their work with great dedication and heart.
