European Platform Meeting for Quality Label Youth Centres and Friends in Luxembourg

Villa Elba’s Executive Director Catarina participated in the European Platform Meeting for Quality Label Youth Centres and Friends, held in Luxembourg on 6–7 May 2025. The event brought together representatives of youth centres from across Europe.

The meeting gathered over 80 participants from 21 countries – youth centre professionals, international experts, and decision-makers – to discuss the importance of quality youth spaces for democracy and international cooperation. The venue was the inspiring Marienthal Youth Centre, one of the Council of Europe’s certified Quality Label youth centres.

The programme included workshops, a youth centres fair, speeches from representatives of the Council of Europe, the Luxembourg Ministry of Education, and young people themselves, as well as cultural activities and networking opportunities. The official opening ceremony was attended by His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg.

The meeting highlighted the importance of developing youth spaces that promote inclusion, learning, and international exchange – and how cooperation can help build sustainable support structures for young people across Europe.
