Development and coordination of regional Youth Work

Regional development and coordination of classical youth work in Central Ostrobothnia and Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia is financed by the Regional Administration Office of Western and Inner Finland (AVI) and the project is managed by Youth Center Villa Elba. The region includes two provinces, two language groups, 8 Swedish-speaking/bilingual municipalities in Central Ostrobothnia and 13 in Ostrobothnia. The project develops youth work in our region and within its services, together in collaboration with the municipal youth work. The primary target group of the regional coordination of youth work is youth work workers in municipalities and/or actors implementing municipal youth work. There are 108.5 person-years of work in the region (Youth Statistics 2022).

Regional coordination is a continuation of the projects: Development and coordination of Classic Youth Work in the region of Central Ostrobothnia and Swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia 2023. Digital now! – II, Regional development of the youth sector 2022. Regional coordination and development of Youth Affairs and Internationalism in the province of Central Ostrobothnia and in the Swedish-speaking municipalities of Ostrobothnia 2021. Regional Youth Work in Central Ostrobothnia and Swedish-speaking municipalities in Ostrobothnia 2020, Regional Youth Work in Central Ostrobothnia and Pietarsaari 2019 and Internationalism 2017-2019.

• improving the quality and effectiveness of youth work

• networking of youth work actors is supported

• the flow of information between the parties involved in youth work is developed

Coordination takes place in practice through trainings and workshops, working groups and networks, as well as municipality/region-specific activities and meetings. In addition, regional coordinators participate in national cooperation as a representative of their own region.
