From March 17–22, Villa Elba hosted the Erasmus+ seminar “Youth Workers for Environmental Rights”, bringing together 34 participants from 14 different countries. Throughout the week, participants explored the connections between environmental education and youth work while experiencing the stunning nature of Kokkola.
Participant Giovanni Giacomino shared their experience on LinkedIn:
“Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to visit #Kokkola, in central #Finland, where I represented Europiamo at the EU seminar “Youth Workers for Environmental Rights”, hosted at the Villa Elba Youth Center. During these five days, we explored the Finnish #educationsystem, particularly in relation to #environmental topics, and I gained a deeper understanding of why Finland consistently ranks among the top OECD countries in education. Their innovative approach fosters strong collaboration between the #NGOs Sector and the formal education system, with both making extensive use of non-formal education methodologies.”
