Joining this Erasmus+ project in Finland was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I’m Ömer Yarar from Ankara, Türkiye. I came here to experience something new, meet people from different cultures, and grow as a person. During the project, I took part in many activities, but what meant the most to me was the time we spent sharing our stories and learning from each other. These moments made me realize how powerful human connection can be.
This experience taught me a lot – not just about others, but about myself too. I learned that I can adapt to new situations, be open-minded, and stay calm even when things are unfamiliar. I feel more confident now, and I know I can communicate and connect with people no matter where they’re from.
One moment I’ll never forget was saying goodbye to someone I became really close with. It was emotional because we had built a strong friendship in such a short time – and that showed me how deep bonds can form when people are truly open with each other.
This project matters because it brings people together. It helps us grow, understand, and support each other. If you’re thinking about joining a project like this, my advice is simple: do it. It might be outside your comfort zone, but it will change your life in the best way.
I would like to end by remembering the timeless words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the Republic of Türkiye: “Peace at home, peace in the world.”
Thank you for everything…
