Youth Exchange

Villa Elba supports young people in planning and carrying out international youth exchanges funded through the Erasmus+. Youth exchanges bring together young people from different countries to learn from each other, share experiences, and explore topics that matter to them.

At Villa Elba, youth exchanges are based on non-formal learning and active participation. Young people are involved in the whole process, from shaping the idea to taking part in the exchange itself, with guidance and support from experienced youth workers.

For Young People

A youth exchange is a chance to meet people your age from other countries and spend time together doing meaningful and fun activities. The topic of an exchange comes from the interests of the group and can be about culture, music, identity, sustainability, human rights, sports, or something completely different. Villa Elba supports youth groups throughout the process and helps turn ideas into real projects.

During a youth exchange, you will:

Take part in workshops, discussions, creative activities, and shared experiences
Learn more about yourself and others in a multicultural group
Practice using English in a relaxed and supportive environment
Build confidence, communication skills, and teamwork skills
Make new friends and create memories that last long after the exchange ends

Youth exchanges usually last between 5-10 program days plus travel, with 5 program days being more common. They can take place either in Finland or in another European country. There are no participation fees for youth exchanges. The program provides travel support but participants may need to cover travel costs that go over the support.

For Partner Organisations

Villa Elba has long-standing experience in international youth work and Erasmus+ cooperation. We support and guide youth groups in the design, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of youth exchanges, ensuring high-quality learning experiences and safe working environments.

We work closely with partner organisations across Europe and are always open to building new partnerships. Through our networks, we can connect suitable partners with Finnish youth groups and support joint project development from the idea stage onwards.

Support for partner finding and project planning
Hosting youth exchanges in Finland or sending groups abroad
