Programs for youth and children

In our programs, we emphasize experiential and exploratory learning. The goal is to create joy and pleasure, feelings of success, empathy and co-operative ability, as well as group spirit in order to improve trust between the members of the group. The goal is also to strengthen the independence and self-awareness of the group and its members. The involvement of children and young people is important to us.

From April to October, depending on weather.

Kayaking Tour

The destination of the tour is selected together, the route depends also on and the weather. We choose a place nearby we will also explore the exciting history of the area. Weather dependant.

Canoeing and cycling tour of the Tour de Vanhan satamanlahti

Guided tour in two groups. Other group paddles across the bay and the other cycles. After a juice break we change the equipment. Canoeing is done with either open canoes or kayaks. Cycling is on mountain bikes. Weather dependant.

Lighthouse Adventure

We take a trip to the Rummelö bird sanctuary area and to the old lighthouse in Harriniemi (about 4 km). Along the way, we do various collaborative tasks in a group. The lighthouse is locked, but it is surrounded by a hidden treasure.

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking tour in Santahaka-Harrbåda area, along small and bigger trails. Maximum 15 people.

Escaperoom adventure

The group has a limited time to solve riddles, missions and mysteries.

Nightrip to Tankar Lighthouse Island

We go on a boat to Tankar, cook food and sleep either in tens or small cottages. There is a possibility for birdwatching, nature art, fishing. May through October

Creative Room

We work together, alone, in pairs, or in small groups, variety of fun tasks that develope creativity in various forms. In the Creative Room one does not need to be good with word, an artist or an inventor, but we need a little ability to break away from our usual ways of thinking. Suitable for high school and young adults.

Bug adventure

We explore the wonderful world of bugs in the area near Villa Elba. We are exploring different bugs with magnifying glasses and exploring the life of bugs through fun games.

Killer Squirrel Adventure

Villa Elba has long been bullied by a large squirrel who calls himself a Killer Squirrel. The group receives a common challenge and tries to solve a variety of difficult, problem-solving and collaborative tasks in the Elba yard. Finally, the most challenging task needs to be done: The golden cones collected on the killer squirrel must be handed over before the deadline

Soap workshop

We make handmade soap ourselves. The soap can be decorated with flowers and scents

Nature tour

We make a trip to the nearby area. We use different senses, play and build in nature.

City adventure

We will compete in small groups from checkpoint to checkpoint in the center of Kokkola. Along the way, we will explore the city of Kokkola and its history.

Birdwatching

We take a guided hike along boardwalks to a bird protection area and a birdwatching tower. We bring binoculars, a bird guidebook, and a telescope with us.

DIY-nature cosmetics

We make natural cosmetics ourselves. You can create lip balm, face cream, or bath salts.

Environmental Art

We make our own nature exhibition on the beach or in the woods! We document our artwork by photographing

Snow shoeing or kicksled safari

Imagine a dusky, snowy forest path or sunny sea ice!

Ice fishing

We get to know ice safety and equipment and make a trip to the Old Harbor Bay. Can be comfortably combined with fish research. Dependant on the ice thickness

Sea research

We explore the life of marine microorganisms in the shallow waters and in our laboratory. We learn about the unique features and species of our Baltic Sea. Photos taken through the microscope can be saved onto your own USB drive

We prepare a meal in the nature with campstove or open fire
